Our Programs

Tranby is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) delivering nationally accredited courses designed by, and for First Nations peoples. Our programs are grounded in community priorities, cultural knowledge and lived experience, creating pathways for Mob to lead, learn, and thrive and designed to empower First Nations communities.

analangami is a national online and in-person leadership and empowerment program for First Nations women. Yanalangami creates a culturally safe space for women to build confidence, strengthen connection, and create ripples of positive change in their communities.

The Oral Histories program supports the digital preservation of generational knowledge, honouring the power of oral storytelling, and truth telling. We host a state-of-the-art oral history recording studio, designed to provide a culturally safe space where Elders can share their history, whilst we support with digitally capturing the wealth of knowledge and information passed on through the generational teaching that occurs during this process.  

Tranby’s Digital Dilly Bag project focuses on First Nations data sovereignty and creates a safe digital data hub for the storage and preservation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ digital audio-visual stories in a culturally sensitive manner.

For Tranby, learning on the job, learning in communities, and learning through activism were all just as important as learning in the classroom. Around the Meeting Tree provides an overview of the learning, activism, and community engagement history of Tranby from 1980-2000.

BlackBooks is a First Nations-owned social enterprise and the first Aboriginal-controlled distributor and bookstore in Australia. As part of our commitment to amplifying community voices, we developed the OutLOUD initiative. Through OutLOUD, we produced a podcast series featuring First Nations LGBTQIA+SB community members, inviting them to share, on their own terms, what matters most to them and what gives meaning to their lives and cultural practices. We also partnered with BLAQ and Lesbians Incorporated to host monthly Queer Elders’ lunches, creating a culturally safe space for yarning, healing, and bringing community together.

The purpose of Burawa is to move our Mob upwards by enhancing the information, advice, and support available to First Nations adults across Australia, empowering them to choose successful pathways to education and fulfilling careers through a culturally designed and inclusive support program.

Mentoring our Mob is a community-managed cultural program providing career mentoring for First Nations peoples with professional support for navigating corporate and other workplace spaces, bringing out the mentee’s potential, exploring career pathways and new opportunities. Mentoring our Mob empowers Mob to choose successful pathways to education and fulfilling careers and delivering resources to build career confidence and skills at four different stages: career entry, return to career, change in career, and career progression.
