
Katriina Heikkanen is a proud Worimi woman from Forster on the mid-north coast of NSW. She has Finnish heritage on her father’s side and grew up on Dharug land in Sydney. Katriina has more than 20 years’ experience working across Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander programs, policy and community development. She is the Indigenous Business Development Manager at GHD and a member of the Strategic Advisory Committee, providing support and guidance to the AFL. She previously worked as Indigenous and Social Policy Manager for the AFL, and prior to that, Katriina was a Senior Manager in the Commonwealth Government, overseeing Indigenous Employment and Economic Development. Katriina also co-chairs the Community Resource Board, which runs social enterprises that deliver community services. Her leadership reflects a strong commitment to Indigenous empowerment, governance and cultural integrity.
