
Hagbarth (Haggy) Strom is the General Manager of Debt and Securitisation at AMAL. Haggy is a qualified solicitor with over 20 years’ experience in financial services and law, specialising in structured and securitisation markets. He has previously worked as a commercial lawyer at Perpetual Limited, Clayton Utz, and at French bank, Société Générale. Prior to this, he consulted for Wall Street banks. Originally from Norway, Haggy moved to Australia in 2003 and has since been an active advocate in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander affairs. In 2006, he completed a Native Title legal internship in Western Australia, and in 2015, he spent several months in a remote Cape York community working with Traditional Owners to develop a strategic land management plan as part of the Jawun program. Haggy brings his expertise in governance and strategy to support Indigenous-led initiatives.
