BlackBooks
BlackBooks is a First Nations-owned social enterprise and the first Aboriginal-controlled book distributor and bookstore in Australia. As part of our commitment to amplifying community voices, we developed the OutLOUD initiative, producing a podcast series that features First Nations LGBTQIA+SB community members. Each person was invited to share, on their own terms, what matters most to them and what gives meaning to their lives and cultural practices. We also partnered with BLAQ and Lesbians Incorporated to host monthly Queer Elders’ lunches, creating a culturally safe space for yarning, healing and bringing community together.
